The screen bezel, laptop palmrest, hinge mounts were fractured but motherboard/functionability was spared. Replacement parts (including the display) were ordered. Replacing the display replacement & reconnecting cables was difficult. The display mounts to the inside of the lid with double-sided epoxy tape instead of traditional mounting bolts. Subsequently, the old display cannot be removed without further cracking the screen! If the replacement display is not properly mounted on the first time attempt, there's NO second chances! Luckily, I got the replacement display installed,, including the delicate, hidden monitor & camera cables. The finished result is this Dell laptop photo! This fast i7 CPU powered laptop works seamlessly with Windows 11 and perfect for "in-house" needs. The only reason you see gray fabric tape stripping on the the keyboard palmrest is because I cannot locate "cosemtic" hinge caps without having to purchase the entire display assembly! You will see a protective keyboard cover I ordered to protect the keyboard from accumulating grime or premature key cap wear & tear. Keyboard coverings are inexpensively available for most computer models, and a "cheap" insurance policy for accidental spills & moisture seepage.

An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) provides backup power to protect equipment from damage during a power outage or random power surge occurence in the line. The UPS will absorb the power surge spike and if a power outage occurs, the UPS should provide you enough time to shut down down your system without data loss within 5-10 minutes (depending on power draw of all devices connected to UPS). UPS systems containing 2 batteries may double that shutdown time-frame. We test and replace each UPS unit with new batteries. The UPS units pictured here generally cost $200-$350 (new).
